I am a board-certified family physician and board certified in obesity medicine as a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine with advanced fellowship training in Addiction Medicine with special interest in general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. I provide thoughtful, evidence-based medical care for adults seeking support with substance use, weight management, and related behavioral health concerns.
My clinical work includes the treatment of mental health issues, alcohol, opioid, nicotine, and other substance use disorders, including medication-based treatment with buprenorphine, naltrexone, and other appropriate therapies. I also help patients address obesity, metabolic health, emotional eating, and the medical factors that can make sustainable weight management difficult.
I believe patients receive better care when physicians and therapists work collaboratively. Many concerns involving substance use, weight, sleep, mood, stress, and behavior cannot be addressed effectively through medication or therapy alone. With a patient’s permission, I welcome coordination with therapists and other members of the treatment team so that care remains consistent, practical, and aligned with the patient’s goals.
My approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in shared decision-making. I focus on understanding the whole person rather than reducing someone to a diagnosis, a number on a scale, or a substance they use. Treatment plans are individualized and may include medication management, risk reduction, lifestyle interventions, coordination with therapy, and referrals for additional services when needed.
