Hi! I’m Lauren (she/they), a Brooklyn-based trauma therapist currently offering virtual individual and group sessions in NY, CT, VT and consultation/peer supervision for therapists and graduate students in all 50 states.

Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it is your first time or if you’ve had not so great experiences in the past. My approach is grounded in wanting to create a therapeutic environment that is relational, trauma informed, social justice informed, and stigma free.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with an MA in Gender and Sexuality, and over ten years of experience in working with trauma survivors within various settings.

I started Labradorite Therapy as a space that is

· Queer, trans, nonbinary and gender expansive affirming!

· Affirming of all relationship styles (monogamous, polyamorous/ENM, platonic partnerships)

· Prioritizing the individual and the therapeutic relationship over diagnostic criteria and “one size fits all” treatment plans

· Anti-oppressive and understands that our individual challenges exist within larger systems and institutions that can cause harm

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks, survivors of relationship violence, and survivors of high-control groups and religions. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and aim to incorporate these in genuine ways when they feel most supportive.
