LICENCED PSYCHOANALYST
I am a relational psychoanalyst and a clinical supervisor who has been working with men, women and non-binary people for nearly 20 years. My focus is on growth and healing, identifying unconscious patterns that get in the way of living more fully, as well as an appreciation of the psychological and spiritual dimensions of suffering. In 2024, I was awarded the Gradiva Award for my article, “The Loaded Chamber” published in Psychoanalytic Perspectives. I have given lectures and workshops throughout the United Stated and around the world. My work has been published in academic journals and I'm a contributing author of the 2019 book, Intersubjective Self Psychology: A Primer. Before becoming a psychoanalyst, I worked as a journalist with credits in newspapers and magazines. My 11-year training in psychoanalysis includes clinical training at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP) in New York City where I am a faculty member and supervisor. Specialized training includes work as a non-denominational chaplain, advanced training in trauma, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and advanced couple therapy training. Prior to my psychoanalytic training, I earned a Master’s of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, specializing in theology and psychiatry. I am a council member of International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, and the Webinar Committee at the International Association for Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
