Do I need to be a licensed therapist or psychiatrist to join?

Yes. TherapyHive memberships are exclusively for licensed Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Clinical Social workers, Licensed Mental Health Counsellor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and other therapist and wellness professionals. A copy of your license will be required when you sign-up.

Yes. When you become a virtual member through the Carpenter Bee Plan ($99/month) or Honeybee Plan ($149/month) you can use the TherapyHive 5th Avenue address in New York City as your professional address.

Yes, the virtual office address corresponds to a brick-and-mortar suite on 5th Avenue in New York City exclusively for licensed therapists – not a P.O. Box. The Honeybee Plan ($149/month) works for practitioners and prescribers who need to meet DEA and state licensing requirements* with access to hourly bookings in a physical office. Your mail is forwarded monthly and processed in a HIPAA compliant secure environment. T&C apply.

When you sign-up for the Carpenter Bee or Honeybee Plan (Virtual Office Memberships), you’ll receive an email with a link to sign a Business Associates Agreement (BAA). HIPAA requires a signed BAA because TherapyHive may handle mail that could include Protected Health Information (PHI). The BAA ensures you and TherapyHive are compliant with HIPAA privacy and security standards from day one of your membership. Important note: TherapyHive associates and employees never open mail. Your membership cannot be fully activated until your BAA is signed. Please contact us with any questions.

The USPS takes about 4-6 weeks to transfer your new address change to TherapyHive. We need a full billing cycle to send your mail (ie, if you sign up for a virtual package on August 28th, you will not receive mail until October 1st. If you do not receive mail for the month, you will receive a postcard from TherapyHive saying hello and letting you know you didn’t have any mail.

Yes, you can add team members to your virtual membership for an additional fee of $19 per member per month under the Carpenter Bee and Honeybee Plan. You are charged for each team member who receives mail at the TherapyHive address and for each team member who uses the office for hourly bookings – not both. For example, if you have three therapists under your group practice and two are receiving mail and the same two are booking offices, you will be charged $19/mo x 2. If your third therapist uses only the address, but never books an office, you will be charged $19/mo x 3.

Your mail will be forwarded monthly via USPS to your provided address. We forward only forward printed matter, (sorry, no packages) to the Continental US. Mailed is shipped approximately a week before the end of the month. We will alert you via email the day the mail is sent. Please note –we do not send mail with tracking, so we cannot guarantee an exact delivery date.

We have two membership plans exclusively for therapists who do not need access to an office. The Carpenter Bee Membership ($99/month) is best for fully remote or telehealth-only practitioners. It provides a HIPAA compliant professional 5th Avenue business address, monthly mail forwarding, and a listing in The Hive directory. The Hive ($29/mo) is a professional directory designed to help other therapists grow their practice and connect with colleagues. Your public-facing profile is available to potential clients and you have access to a therapist-only Discussion Board for networking and cross referrals.

You will receive a postcard from TherapyHive informing you that you had no mail that month. We will alert you via email the day the mail is sent. Please note –we do not send mail with tracking, so we cannot guarantee an exact delivery date.

Unfortunately, the new plans no longer provide in-person pick-up as an option.

Our billing cycle is on the first of the month, except for the first month you sign up, which is pro-rated. For example, if you sign-up on August 10th, your first bill will be pro-rated (August 11th -August 31st). September 1st would be the start of your monthly membership billing.

Yes. We accept printed matter/ business mail that requires a signature.

TherapyHive requires a full 30-day cancellation before the next billing cycle on the 1st of the month. We cannot pro-rate cancellations. For example, if you cancel on August 10th, you will be charged for September (in addition to August) and your membership will end September 30th, before the start of the October 1st billing cycle. To send a cancellation request (or to change your membership), log in to your account, go to “plans” and “cancel plan” or “change this plan” to change your membership.

Not a problem, if you cancel your plan before the 1st, a full 30-day billing cycle applies (see question above about cancellation/change policy) and change to the Honeybee or Bumblebee plan to enjoy access to hourly bookings of a secure office.

Not for verification. Because TherapyHive owns the building address, only members with a private office (and their own office number) can use it for Google business verification. However, as a virtual office member (Carpenter Bee or Honeybee plan) you can include the address on your Google Business Page so it appears in search results and maps – that’s often all the visibility you need. If full Google verification is important, consider upgrading to a part-time or full-time office.

Yes. When you sign-up with our Carpenter Bee and Honeybee Plans, you will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) that outlines and acknowledges the guidelines for HIPAA mail forwarding of physical handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).
